Fat Carbon Materials
Carbon Fiber Spectral by fatcarbon® is a high-quality carbon fiber material with a unique look. Its surface combines dark blacks and lighter greys, and the pattern never repeats. When light hits it, the material subtly shimmers, changing depending on the angle.
The material is made from very thin 0.05 mm carbon fiber layers that are pressed together. A quasi-isotropic layup ensures equal mechanical behavior in all in-plane directions.
Technical details:
Carbon fiber Spectral is chosen when the material is expected to deliver both strong technical performance and a high level of visual quality, without treating one as more important than the other. It is developed with careful attention to mechanical reliability and surface finish.
Spectral can be processed using CNC machining, enabling accurate shapes and detailed components. Polishing or applying a clear coat helps bring out the color tones and visible depth of the material, without changing its structure.
