This innovative gold and copper carbon fiber series draws inspiration from the ancient Japanese art of Mokume-gane, a technique where craftsmen layered precious metals to create natural patterns resembling wood grain. In Japanese, “Fukugo” (複合) means a composite or a combination of different materials. For us, Fukugo carbon fiber is more than just a technical term, it is a material with its own distinct character and feeling.
Every piece in the Fukugo carbon fiber series is completely unique. During the manufacturing process, the vibrant layers of this gold and copper carbon fiber composite naturally form organic patterns similar to the lines of wood. Because of this, no two pieces are ever exactly the same.
The Fukugo carbon fiber series is all about the pattern. The tight swirling circles feel a bit like natural wood grain or knots in good quality wood, giving the material a deep, organic feel. Light makes the metallic lines reflect and shift as you move, especially with a polished or clear-coated finish.
